I know you all didn't know I was gone, since I was still posting as usual, but I've been away for the last three weeks visiting the Mulli Children's Family, a home for abandoned and orphaned children, in Kenya.
I didn't post about it beforehand because so many local people read my blog, and it seemed like a way of saying, "Hi! We're away for three weeks! Come and rob my house!". So I tried to make it look like all was normal.
But it wasn't. I didn't eat meat or sugar in over two weeks. (My apologies to vegetarians, but that's a big deal for me! I don't eat much meat to begin with, but a little is nice!).
Best of all, I got to reconnect with the Kenyan children we've grown to know and love over the last two trips. I'll post more later, but I wanted to tell you that I've been away--and that I'm back. So I'll be commenting on all the posts again, and replying to you all, and getting back in the swing of things!
welcome back! one of my dear bible study girls is moving there for a year in a few weeks--i can't even imagine such a huge change. hope your trip was amazing!
I grew up in West Africa as a missionary kid, so your post sure caught my eye! Glad you had a blessed time there, and it sounds like you were a blessing as well!
About Me: I'm a Christian author of a bunch of books, and a frequent speaker to women's groups and marriage conferences. Best of all, I love homeschooling my daughters, Rebecca and Katie. And I love to knit. Preferably simultaneously.
