Dine Without Whine - A Family

Friendly Weekly Menu Plan
Take Time This Summer to....
Do absolutely nothing.

Read a novel from cover to cover.

Watch children run naked around the backyard (as long as they're still toddlers)!

Sit outdoors and just listen to the birds.

Take walks with someone you love.

Knit something.

Take up a new hobby.

Clean out one room completely. It'll feel great!

Write a letter with actual pen and paper.

Build a sandcastle.

Consider the ants and be wise! But don't get busy like them until the fall!

Take lots and lots of pictures.

Videotape your kids doing something fun.

Stay in bed late. Let the kids sit in front of a video if you have to.

Take a hike somewhere you haven't explored yet.

Try to make your own ice cream.

Freeze juice in popsicle molds.

And just RELAX!

That's what I'm doing, so posting might be light for the next little while! Now get outside and get some sun!

Yep, I've been just relaxing and lounging this summer. At times I've felt guilty about it, all my friends seem so busy, I feel like I should be too. But then I decided to just enjoy it. :)

Sheila,
This has nothing to do with this post. I just wanted to write and tell you that I absolutely love your blog. I am on your blog daily, reading your posts.

I am not married, and have no children. However, I do hope to be both a wife and mother some day. I think that you give great advice not only for current wives, but also for future wives. I have applied some of your "suggestions" to other relationships, and they seem to work across the board. Thank you for being transparent, and sharing the wisdom that God has given you. You are a blessing to this "hopeful" marriage candidate!

Yes, yes and yes! I just had a baby last week, so we've definately been "lax" around here sleeping in, watching the forbidden "boob tube" and just playing outside, enjoying God's sunshine. I've always been a very "get things done" mom/wife, but I have to say, it's so nice to have the summer to relax!

Thanks for your list and reminding all of us that it's okay to let things go a bit and enjoy the little things. =)
