Why Do Weird People Make My Life So Hard?
I really love my readers. I do. I feel like I've developed a real relationship with many of you over the last little while.

But I'm getting ridiculous comments on some of my posts over the last few days, and I guess it's just time to turn on comment moderation.

I hate comment moderation. I don't want to bother "okaying" what everybody said, as if you're all kindergartners. It just seems juvenile.

But when people start insulting other commenters, I guess it's time.

Honestly, can't we all grow up? If what is being talked about in a post really is not of interest to you, or you think it is stupid, move on. You don't have to stick around, you know.

Why mess up everybody else's networking? Why are some people just so negative? I can't figure it out.

That's what I hate about the internet. On the whole, though, most people have been really, really polite and kind. And I do appreciate that!

Unfortunately, unless you're only posting recipes and pretty pictures, comment moderation is almost a MUST. Opinions are like noses, you know. Everyone has 'em and heaven forbid if you post an opinion that is different. Some people simply can't control themselves or their rude tendencies.

I started receiving foul and x-rated language on my blog not long after I started. It went beyond inappropriate too, I got people saying I was going to make a horrible mother and using curse words to get their point across.

I think unless you are willing to have that on your blog and then later delete it, that's just how blogging goes in our broken world. Especially when your views are counter cultural.
